History of The Previous Versions of The Conferences of The College of Engineering - University of Duhok


The 1st Engineering Education Conference was held in the period 17-19 April 2012 under the title "Engineering is the Future".

The 2nd International Conference of the College of Engineering-University of Duhok: Recent Innovations in Engineering (ICRIE), which was held from April 26th to 27th, 2017 in Duhok City, Kurdistan Region - Iraq. The aim of the ICRIE was to provide an important forum for scientists, engineers, and policy-makers from private firms, government agencies, and universities all over the world to share information, exchange ideas and collaborate in the fields of Civil, Electrical, Computer, Architectural, and Mechanical Engineering. The conference invited professional and distinguished lecturers to be keynote speakers of the conference. All the submitted papers were subjected to peer-blind review by two specialists and the accepted manuscripts were published in the special issue of the Journal of the University of Duhok (JUD). ICRIE 2017 Conference was sponsored by Darin Group Company and Kurdistan Regional Government - Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The 3rd International Conference on Recent Innovations in Engineering (ICRIE 2020) is intended to bring together researchers, research scholars, and top academic scientists to share and exchange research findings and experiences on engineering elements of research, innovation, and design. For educators, researchers, and engineering practitioners, the conference provided a premier interdisciplinary forum for the presentation and discussion of the most recent trends, issues, and innovations as well as the real-world difficulties encountered and solutions put into practice in the fields of engineering research.

In addition to that, selected papers will be published in the Journal of Engineering Research (JER) the Print ISSN: 2307-1877 and Online ISSN: 2307-1885 Indexed by Clarivate Analytics, Thomson Reuters, Web of Science, Scopus, International Standard Serial Number (ISSN). All other submitted papers will be subjected to peer-blind review by two specialists and the accepted manuscripts will be published in the special issue of the Journal of the University of Duhok (JUD), the Print ISSN: 1812-7568 and Online ISSN: 2521-4861 Indexed by International Standard Serial Number (ISSN), Directory of Open Access scholarly Resources (ROAD) & Digital object identifier (DOI).

12 selected papers have been published in Journal of Engineering Research (JER), the Print ISSN: 2307-1877 and Online ISSN: 2307-1885 Indexed by Clarivate Analytics, Thomson Reuters, Web of Science, Scopus, International Standard Serial Number (ISSN). Scope of The ICRIE 2023 Conference


The 4th ICRIE 2023 targets to bring together researchers, research scholars, and leading academic scientists to share and exchange their research results and experiences on engineering aspects of research, innovation, and design. It will also offer a premier interdisciplinary platform for educators, researchers, and engineering practitioners to present and discuss the most recent trends, concerns, and innovations as well as practical challenges faced and solutions implemented in the fields of engineering research. This will help Kurdistan Region (KRG) in following the current developments in the world and benefit from its effect on the economic, construction, and industrial fields.

As an endeavor for the College of Engineering and Engineering Research Center to motivate the academic staff to publish their future research in peer-reviewed recognized journals, the idea for holding 3rd international conference at Engineering College has grown. The task of this proposed conference is represented in internationalizing the local experience of academic staff by participating in a conference sponsored by famous associations in many engineering fields Indexed by Clarivate Analytics, Thomson Reuters, Web of Science, Scopus, International Standard Serial Number (ISSN), Directory of Open Access scholarly Resources (ROAD) & Digital object identifier (DOI). This conference will invite professional and distinguished lecturers to be keynote speakers of the conference.
